Hey Firefox, did you miss me?

After an extended visit in the land of Chrome, I have come back to Firefox. Why?

    • Full use of 1Password
    • I got tired of having to switch to Firefox for sites that weren’t working correctly in Chrome
    • Userstyles, especially the one I use for Google Reader, which were not rendering properly in Chrome

I will miss how much snappier Chrome felt though. Sigh.

Now accepting all major credit cards

Is your deadbeat friend claiming he can’t pay you back because he doesn’t have any cash on him? No problem. With Square, you can just run his credit card through your iPhone. Of course if he doesn’t have a credit card then this won’t work. Or if his credit card is maxed out. Maybe you need to get richer friends.

    Mail Nirvana

Just got Thunderbird configured exactly the way I want it, in order to play nice with Gmail, and it is sweet! Plus I was able to pull all my local pre-Gmail emails into Gmail, keeping the original date and sender info! I am now off to a well-earned sleep.

UPDATE: I have since switched from Thunderbird to Postbox, and it is perhaps even more hawesome.

Safari sans Saft is just not the same

I like using Safari. It is fast, good-looking, and has a super-sexy (and useful) way of highlighting search results in a page. It is missing a few deal-breaker features (ability to restore history when re-opening a mistakenly closed tab, URL shortcuts, keyword searching from the address bar), but these can be added with Saft, so everything is OK. Except for when I forget to wait for a Saft update before updating Safari. Sigh. My life is tough, huh?
