A friend reminded me that a) I have a blog, and b) said blog contained no mention of my Lily. My friend is right on both counts so World, meet Lily Maria Alejandra.

Named in honor of her grandmother with a tip of that hat to her mother and to her aunt and to one of the best men I know.

After two boys, I never thought I would have a girl. And yet here she is! I have so much to tell her as she grows and discovers the world around her. But for now, let’s start with this:

I loved the cover of Don’t Rain on my Parade on Glee. But, my favorite has to remain the incomparable original. Sing it, Barbra.

Glee‘s Jayma Mays, as mysophobic Emma Pillsbury, has nailed every blush, sigh, and wide-eyed look of the hopelessly besotted. She manages to be completely charming playing a character that in the wrong hands would have quickly become cloying. Her cast mate, Jane Lynch, is also excellent playing the ferocious Sue Sylvester. Love, love, LOVE her.

Can’t wait till this show starts up again in April.
