Google is a dictionary!
To quickly look up a word’s definition, put this into Google’s search box: “define:x”, where x is the word to be defined. This is particularly handy if you are using a browser with a google search field built into the browser toolbar.

Multiple versions of IE on one computer!
OK, this is very exciting. Take a deep breath. A clever, clever man figured out how to run IE 5, 5.5, and 6 concurrently in Windows. This is a great thing for designers that want to test their pages in different browsers without the hassle of running emulation software or partitioning hard drives. And the icing on the cake is that this very nice man has tested this out in various versions of windows, zipped all the various stand-alone installations of IE, and made them available for download. Yay! And finally to keep all these versions straight, download some color-coded icons for the 3 versions, courtesy of Luke Redpath. One last note: all three versions will say they are version 6, but they’re not. Have fun!

If you want to know who is really profiting from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, take a look at the Center for Public Integrity’s page, Windfalls of War. By filing Freedom of Information requests with various U.S. government agencies, they have managed to put together a list showing which companies have received recontruction contracts and for what amounts. Any surprise that Halliburton tops the list?
